Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards men

Did you  know that the iconic "Earthrise" picture was taken on Christmas Eve, in 1968? It was on the Apollo 8 mission, before anybody set foot on the moon. But they were orbiting it.

Nearly every human, alive or dead in 1968, was in that picture. There are only three missing. Command Module pilot Jim Lovell. Lunar Module Pilot William Anders, the astronaut who took it. Mission Commander Frank Borman, who took this black and white while Anders located the color film.
